Chengde city is one of the 44 scenic spots and one of then 10 tourist wonderland in China. It's located between north latitude 4011'- 4240' and east longitude11554' - 11915' in the northeast of the Hebei province, the hinterland of Yanshan Mountain Chain;a distance of 256 kilometers from Beijing.With a total area of 40 thousand square kilometres and a population of 345000 or so,the city is in a basin.It is surrounded by mountains with rivers flowing among them.Here,the weather is neither too cold in winter,and nor hot in summmer.Annual average temperature is 8.8 degrees centigrade.Having moderate rainfall and few sandstorms.Chengde city is not only an ideal retreat,but also a wonderful place for people to spend their holidays all the year round.
